Father's Day Gift Rush

These past two weeks I feel like I've been doing an endless series of laps in a great big pool of paint .  I ferociously kicked my way through custom orders for Father's Day, barely able to come up for a breath of air ~ while at the same time towing my pre-school art camp kids on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday ~ and my ladies art class on Mondays and Fridays.  The finish line flags are now visible as I finish up my last custom painting.  So, please bare with me as I take a little time to share the custom orders which have kept my painting hand and creativity in great shape.

For these I hand painted a reproduction of my customers original photograph, cut it into thirds, adhered it to 3 natural wood art blocks, added more paint, then sealed and signed the back.

And my final custom portrait painting - that is not yet complete

Many thanks to those who entrusted me to create a special gift for Father's Day.  Wishing all the dads a great day and may you feel as special as you are!

  1. Thanks for my paintings Cathie.. I'm just blown away by how close they are to the original pictures - and the one of my husband and father-in-law was two different pictures! I can't think of a better way to honour the memories of both my mother Janis, and my father-in-law Gunner, than with little fun paintings like these

  2. Sue - you gave me great subjects to work with and I loved painting your "sophisticated" portraits. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to honor the memories of Janis and Gunner. - Cathie
