Cool Stuff for Saturday

Even though I hate to admit it, a brand new school year is right around the corner.  In order to help make the transition from summertime to back-to-school time a little more interesting and fun I thought I would feature cool creative projects for students of all ages to make, bake and decorate.

For your books:
Protect your favorite books with these felt Book Blankets
Love these!  Find the directions here

For your change
Keep your change in a super sweet recycled wallet.
Find the template here

For your mistakes
Speed Erasers ...
As an art teacher "retired" from teaching in a private school I issue a word of advice - If you make these erasers with your child - Please don't let them take their erasers, with removable parts (thumbtacks) to school!  That being said - I think this erasable craft is the coolest!  Find the instructions here

For a nutritional snack
You can chew on these pencils - seriously!
Food for thought found here

For any parent cheering on a brand new school year:
"Because frankly we are one Post-It note away from a three-ring breakdown."
Find the recipe for "A teachers pet" here

Wishing you fond memories of summertime fun as the last few weeks of summer vacation wind themselves down.
