Women Who Art Student Spotlight

Welcome to the wild west and to one of our favorite artistic cowgirls ~
Karan  Allan.
Karan  casually wears her Texas badge on her artistic sleeve and brings a sense of the west into this class of mostly born and bred east coast gals.   In order to give this gaggle of beach girls an idea of what a real woman looks like, Karan chose to recreate a portrait of a hat wearing cowgirl.

Karen's color choices were bright and bold - well selected colors to showcase this memorable portrait.

Her original painting came from a piece of art she saw while visiting her family in Texas,
yet she added to it her own special touches.

Cowgirl painting a cowgirl....
I love how her clothing always compliments the piece on which she's working!

Adding a little more color to the canvas ~

and "Ye-Ha" the finished portrait -
I'd gladly trade-in my beach towel for a cowboy hat if I could look this good!

Thank You  Karan for bringing a classic western sensibility to our art class!
