Inspiration for a painted portrait...

When I saw this beautiful Polaroid snapshot, I immediately thought of the compositions created by one of my favorite artists Kenton Nelson.

INSPIRATION IV ~ VERY INSPIRING

Painting by Kenton Nelson

After going back and forth to "Caribbean Colors are my Fav" to view Melanie's portrait, and debating whether or not it would be creepy to ask to paint her delightful image, I finally bit the proverbial bullet and sent an e-mail, through her "You are my Fav" blog . I hesitantly asked Melanie's permission to create a painting combining her image, my painting style and the compositional style of Kenton- and she graciously agreed :) Yeah!!!!.

So ~ Here is my finished painting ~

And here are the Before and After images side by side.

Thanks Melanie for your inspiring photograph and for not thinking I was just a crazy "blog stalker'!
